Common issues

Most problems have a one-line fix. Here are the ones we see most. Still stuck? The FAQ has more, or contact us.

The display shows a notice instead of the clock

Your clock is probably paused for being over your plan limit. Upgrade or free up a clock and it resumes instantly — nothing is lost. See Usage & limits.

Prayer times look wrong

  • Check the location is exactly right on the General tab — even a nearby town shifts the times.
  • Check the calculation method matches your local masjid.
  • Remember the madhab only changes Asr. See Prayer time calculation.

The picture is sideways

You've mounted the TV in portrait. Set the orientation to Vertical 90° or 270° (whichever is upright) on the On screen tab. See Display & orientation.

A change I made isn't showing

Make sure you pressed Save. The display updates within a few seconds of saving. If a screen is offline it'll catch up when it reconnects.

It asks for a passcode

That clock has a display passcode. Open the link copied from Copy display URL (which includes the code), or enter the 6-character code once on that device.

A theme I had is gone

If your plan dropped below that theme, the display falls back to a starter theme automatically. Re-upgrade to switch back.

The screen keeps sleeping or showing a screensaver

That's the device's own power saving, not SalahClock. Disable sleep/screensaver on the TV or stick, and use the screen schedule if you want it to rest overnight. Installing it as an app helps too.

Tip

When you contact support, tell us the clock name and what you see on screen. That's usually enough for us to spot the cause straight away.
