SalahClock vs ConnectMazjid

A ConnectMazjid alternative where the countdown is not an add-on.

CMZ Core is free and surprisingly broad — multiple TV displays, a masjid website, event ticketing, Stripe donations. Then you discover that the iqamah countdown is in Essentials at $7.99 a month and the adhan audio is in Prayer+ at $9.99.

The short answer

SalahClock is the alternative to ConnectMazjid for mosques that want the display parts included rather than itemised. CMZ Core is genuinely free and covers a lot of ground, but the display countdown and prayer-change reminders sit in an Essentials add-on at $7.99 a month, and the athan and iqamah audio notifier sits in Prayer+ at $9.99. Stack the modules a mosque typically wants and you are at $29.99 a month for the Community Package.

SalahClock’s free plan includes the countdown, the adhan audio with three muezzin recordings, all ten languages, the announcement banner and a thirty-day offline cache, on one clock across two displays. Plus is $8 a month billed yearly for three clocks, twenty displays and all eighteen themes. ConnectMazjid is the better choice if you want a masjid website, event ticketing and donations from the same vendor, or if you need more than one admin login — something we do not offer at all.

Choose ConnectMazjid if
You want a masjid website, ticketed events and donations bundled in, or you need several committee members to have their own logins.
Choose SalahClock if
You want the display to be complete without stacking modules, and you care how it looks and whether it survives an outage.

CMZ Core is genuinely generous, and that is the point

It is worth being clear that ConnectMazjid gives away more than most vendors in this market charge for. CMZ Core costs nothing and includes multiple TV displays, announcements, events, prayer times, a leadership directory, a standard masjid website, multi-tier event ticketing and donation tools through Stripe. They report 800-plus masajid. The TV app runs on Android TV, Fire TV, Google TV, Samsung and LG, or simply as a URL in any browser — no hardware, same bet we took.

That is a real product given away, and a masjid on a zero budget that wants a website and a donations link as much as a screen could reasonably stop reading here and go and use it.

Where the itemising starts

The free tier is broad rather than deep, and the depth is sold separately as four modules.

Essentials, $7.99 a month, adds the display countdown, prayer change reminders and highlighting the Jumu’ah khatib. The countdown to iqamah is, for most congregations, the single most useful thing on a prayer display — it is the number people actually look at when they walk in.

Prayer+, $9.99 a month, adds the athan and iqamah audio notifier, alerts during the prohibited salah windows, and automatic screen blackout.

Generosity, $9.99 a month, adds donation link support, custom QR codes, a live donation ticker and flyers. Spotlight, $9.99 a month, adds the digital notice board, video streaming and full-screen announcements. All four together come as the Community Package at $29.99 a month, with priority support, an account manager and white-label mode. A separate Admin Package at $15.99 a month is what unlocks multiple admin logins with permissions.

A committee that wants a countdown, the adhan, and announcements on the screen is therefore looking at $27.97 a month in modules, or $29.99 for the bundle — which is $360 a year for a display, against $96 for SalahClock Plus.

What we include instead

SalahClock’s free plan is narrower in scope and deeper in the part it covers. One clock across two displays, four starter themes including light and dark, the countdown to the next prayer, adhan audio with three muezzin recordings, all ten languages and four numeral systems, the bilingual announcement banner, the thirty-day offline cache, and a public clock page your community can open at home. No card, no expiry, no module list.

Plus at $8 a month billed yearly opens all eighteen themes, all ten adhan voices, content screens with scheduled image slides, the enriched mosque homepage with a gallery and staff listing, removal of the footer credit, and display heartbeat monitoring. Pro at $24 a month billed yearly adds the combined split screen, thirty slides per clock, and email alerts when a display goes dark.

The trade is plain enough. ConnectMazjid gives you a wider platform with the display features priced individually; we give you a narrower platform with the display finished.

One thing they do that we cannot

CMZ’s free tier is limited to a single admin, and multiple logins with permissions come with the Admin Package at $15.99 a month. That is a paywall, but it is a paywall in front of a feature that exists.

SalahClock does not have team seats at all. One account, one login. A masjid can list its committee and staff on the public mosque page — fifteen people on Plus, forty on Pro — but that is a directory listing, not a set of logins with roles and an audit trail. If three committee members need to change the iqamah times independently, ConnectMazjid solves that today and we do not.

ConnectMazjid publishes both monthly and annual rates for its add-ons, with the annual figure listed higher per month than the monthly one; the lower monthly rate is used here. The Community Package bundling all four add-ons is $29.99 a month, which would be $1,080 over the same period, and multiple admin logins are a further $15.99 a month. SalahClock figures are the annual billing rate. Neither includes hardware, since neither product needs any. Prices checked September 2026.

Where ConnectMazjid is genuinely better

Every comparison page should have this section and most do not. If one of these matters more to your masjid than everything above, go and use ConnectMazjid — we would rather you had the right display than our display.

The free tier really is free, and really is broad

Multiple TV displays, a masjid website, a leadership directory, event ticketing and Stripe donation tools at no cost is more than we give away and more than most vendors sell. If breadth at zero is what you need, they have built it.

Multiple admin logins exist there and not here

CMZ's Admin Package gives committee members their own accounts with permissions. SalahClock has one login per account and no roles. For a masjid where three people share responsibility for the times, that is a real gap on our side, not a pricing preference.

Ticketing, events and donations in one place

Multi-tier event ticketing is an unusual thing to find in a prayer-display product, and a masjid running fundraising dinners or classes will use it. We have none of that.

Video streaming and a live donation ticker

The Spotlight and Generosity modules put streamed video and a live giving ticker on the screen. Both are shipped features there and neither exists here.

Moving across from ConnectMazjid

  1. Compare the free tiers first, not the paid ones

Open CMZ Core on the hall TV and a free SalahClock clock on any second screen. The honest question is which free plan gives your congregation the thing they look at — and for most mosques that is the countdown to iqamah.

  2. Count the modules you are actually paying for

Before moving anything, list which CMZ add-ons are on the invoice. If it is only Essentials, the comparison is $96 a year against $96 a year and you should choose on how the screen looks. If it is the Community Package, the comparison is $360 against $96.

  3. Retype the iqamah times and match the method

Five numbers plus Jumu'ah, which gets its own khutbah and iqamah entries. Set the calculation method to match what CMZ is using, then use per-prayer minute adjustments for any residual difference.

  4. Keep the website and the donations where they are

Nothing requires an all-or-nothing move. A masjid can keep the CMZ website and donation links running and change only what is on the wall — and a QR code on a SalahClock announcement slide can point at the giving page you already have.

Questions mosques ask about ConnectMazjid

Is ConnectMazjid free?
CMZ Core is free forever and includes multiple TV displays, announcements, events, prayer times, a leadership directory, a standard masjid website, event ticketing and Stripe donation tools, with a single admin. The display countdown and prayer-change reminders are in the Essentials add-on at $7.99 a month, and athan and iqamah audio is in Prayer+ at $9.99 a month.
What does the ConnectMazjid Community Package include?
It bundles all four add-on modules — Essentials, Prayer+, Generosity and Spotlight — with priority support, a dedicated account manager and white-label mode, at $29.99 a month. Multiple admin logins are a separate Admin Package at $15.99 a month.
Does SalahClock's free plan include the iqamah countdown?
Yes. The countdown to the next prayer is on every plan including the free one, along with adhan audio from three muezzin recordings, ten languages, four numeral systems, the bilingual announcement banner and a thirty-day offline cache, across one clock on two displays.
Can several committee members have their own SalahClock logins?
Not today. SalahClock is one login per account, with no roles or audit log. ConnectMazjid offers multiple admins with permissions in its Admin Package, and if that is a requirement for your committee they solve it and we do not.
Do either of them need hardware?
Neither. ConnectMazjid runs as a TV app on Android TV, Fire TV, Google TV, Samsung and LG, or as a URL in any browser. SalahClock is a URL in any browser. Both work on a smart TV, a cheap stick, a tablet or a Raspberry Pi.
What happens to a SalahClock display during a Wi-Fi outage?
It keeps working. The display installs as a progressive web app holding thirty days of computed prayer times and the adhan recordings on the device, then re-syncs when the connection returns. ConnectMazjid does not publish offline behaviour.
Does SalahClock do donations or event ticketing?
No to both. ConnectMazjid has Stripe donation tools in its free tier and multi-tier ticketing alongside. Those are genuine advantages on their side and we have no equivalent.

Put both on the same TV and decide.

SalahClock is free for one clock — no card, no trial clock ticking down. Set your location, type your Iqamah times, open the URL on the screen. If it is not better than what you have, close the tab.
